Gary Graham began playing piano at age 6 and took lessons through high school, performing locally and participating in music competitions. Growing up in Pasadena, Texas, Rock, Blues, Country music, and the rich musical tapestry of the 1960’s musical era all served to broaden his interests.

Moving to Hawaii at age 20, Gary began playing in bands including Spencer Hill, Ram’s Head, Saloon Pilots, and Gold Rush Blues band. While in Hawaii he played at various venues inter-island, concerts at clubs, on the beach, and in the Sunshine festival in Diamond Head volcano crater.

During a year-long 6 night a week residency at a Honolulu club the Gold Rush Blues band was approached to play in Canada. The Canada tour took place in mid-winter and reinforced Gary’s realization that he was a warm weather person.

Gary returned to Texas in the late 70’S, played solo and with bands including Amnesia, Trilogy, Boomers, Monica Marie and Double Shot, Tony Vega, Out of the Blue, Chuck Kidd & The Sugarmens, Amber and the Rascals, the Zach Tate Band, the Graham/Raggio Duo, Treble Hook, and Slide Effect Band. Gary is also a songwriter and recently played in the Moveable Festival, a songwriting festival held in Houston and Austin in a single weekend. He is active in the Houston Songwriter’s Association (HSA) and host the HSA south meeting in Galveston the 1st Sunday of each month at the Pit Stop BBQ restaurant at 6612 Seawall Blvd.

Gary has participated in recording in Hawaii, Seattle, and Houston and created a book and CD project, ‘Tonal Vision’, with friends in Hawaii and Seattle. Discography: Spark 1989 and Music of the Angels 1992 with Shearwater band (Seattle); Labor of Love w/ Monica Marie & the Blues Cruisers 1999. End of Time, Serious Man, and Angels & Outlaws, and with Zach Tate Band.
